Make your own Beeswax Food Wraps

Reusable Beeswax Food Wraps Kit

Reusable Beeswax Food Wraps are an eco-friendly alternative to plastic wrap. Beeswax wraps can be easily made by applying melted beeswax to clean cotton fabric.

Melt one ounce beeswax bar in a small double boiler. Turn on the oven to 350 degrees. Spread the clean cloth on the cookie sheet. Pour over melted wax moving it to the edge with a putty knife. Reheat briefly in a hot oven, 30 seconds, if wax cools during the spreading process. Beeswax is edible and can be wiped off a hot cookie sheet or bowls with a napkin.

Beeswax wraps can be cleaned in warmish soapy water and can be reheated if wax creases.

Use wrap to cover bowls or wrap vegetables. Smaller clothes can be made for sandwiches and bags sewn for vegetables before applying beeswax.
